  • Kimono Demo & Tea Ceremony
    December 10, 2016
    2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

UK-based Japan culture consultant Akemi Solloway will be offering a special opportunity for students to visit her Richmond home for a Kimono Demonstration and Japanese Tea Ceremony.

The kimono (着物) has become established as one of the more recognisable elements of Japanese culture. This traditional style of dress can embrace many different styles and uses and is still in use in modern Japan.

This class will include an opportunity for attendees to be told about the history of the kimono and also given an opportunity to try one on!

Akemi will also explain about the tradition of the Japanese Tea Ceremony and treat attendees to their own Tea Ceremony.

As a UK-based lecturer and consultant on Japanese culture, Akemi Solloway has helped to promote the traditions of her native country over many years.

Please note that this class is restricted to three places only and takes place in Richmond.
